Back from the Caribbean and to the Adolphus

The new aircraft that Im flying in Dallas is also flown out of Miami and San Juan, P.R. Last week I was sent to Miami to do a couple of flights to Havana, Cuba. Unfortunately, we're not allowed past the airport so I couldn't explore it, but I can say Ive been to Cuba. Its interesting because the plane will leave Cuba with not very much luggage, but return completely full. You'll see passenger wearing multiple layers of clothes to get all this stuff back to Cuba. All the luggage is plastic wrapped as well. I asked another pilot who was from there why its wrapped like that and its to prevent baggage handlers from putting their hands in the bags and taking things.

The View from the 15 floor of my room in San Juan situated right on this 2 mile long beach.

After I went to Miami, I got sent to San Juan to fly to different Islands in the Caribbean. It was a blast. The way my trips were setup I was able to have a lot of free time to just lounge at the beach. I spent three nights in San Juan, one night in Trinidad which the night we got there Carnival had just started, and one night in Grenada which was amazing. the hotel was a small all inclusive resort on the beach. unfortunately we got in late and had to leave early.

During my trip I also flew to St. Croix (US virgin islands), Nevis, and Santo Domingo.
Next week I get to go back and do a couple flights to the Bahamas.
Unfortunately I was laying on the beach in San Juan by myself during our anniversary. But when I return the next day, Christina had setup babysitting and a night out to the Adolphus hotel which is one of Dallas' most prestigious hotels built back in 1912 and has the number one ranked hotel restaurant in the country. We didn't eat there because it would have cost us more to eat there than the room cost us, but we did go to a fabulous seafood restaurant next door.

Happy Anniversary Matt!

Today is our anniversary, we've been married for seven years. Of course he's off flying a plane somewhere, but we usually end up celebrating our anniversary on a different day anyway.

This is a picture of us visiting the Salt Lake Temple a couple days after we got engaged. We look so young. I was celebrating my 24th birthday and Matt was 22.

And here we are at our reception. Man, he is such a handsome devil. I love you honey, thanks for being such a great husband, and father, we are so blessed to have you in our life.

I Survived...

my first day alone with all three kids. It actually went pretty well. We cleaned the house and watched movies and took naps. All in all it was a good day. Ethan is now eleven days old, and is doing good. He's a little cutie pie as Quinn calls him. He was back up to his birth weight 4 days after he was born so I don't think he will be little for long. I found him in his bassinet today sucking his thumb, I've always wanted a thumb sucker, maybe Ethan will be it for me.

Matt's parents flew in for the weekend to meet their new grandson. We had a great time. On Valentine's Day we went to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop. I thought it was hilarious, and then we went out to Carrabba's for dinner, my favorite. We are definitely in adjustment mode, but we are having lots of fun getting to know Ethan, the kids have been very helpful, and just want to give him loves all the time. We are so grateful for our expanding family.

Baby Boy officially has a name now.

Well, a little over 24 hours after our little boy was born and the hospital pressuring us for the birth certificate information we (or I should say I) decided on a name. When Christina was 20 weeks pregnant and went to find out if we were having a boy or girl, Christina was so determined that it was a girl that she told me if it was a boy I could pick the name. So, Without any further delay I chose a name that I've liked even before Quinn was born. Our new addition is Ethan Edward Stevulak. Even before we found out it was a boy Christina wanted our next sons middle name to be Edward after her father.

Quinn and Ava met baby brother

they were so excited to see baby brother. They showed up with presents and cupcakes to celebrate his birthday. They sang happy birthday to him. They were really happy to hold their new brother.

Its a Boy

Okay,

We haven't officially agreed on a name yet, but I'm thinking his name will be Ethan. The other two names we have been dicussing are Cole and Brady. Ill call him Ethan from here on out unless there is a name change. Ethan was born at 10:05 central time. From the time Christina received her pitocin to delivery was just over 3 hours. He weighed 6 pounds, much smaller than Quinn(8.8) and Ava(9.1) and is 19 inches long. Both are doing well, Ethan just got checked out by his pediatrician and all is well. He ate for a good 30 minutes right after he was born.

Today is the big day

Well, we are at the hospital. We had to get here at 5am. We just finished checking in and Christina is setup in her room. She's sleeping now just waiting for them to start her pitocin. I will try to keep this blog updated throughout the day, if anyone is interested in following.
